    What is the difference between the CD and the DVD navigation system?
    The main difference between CD and DVD-based navigation systems is that the CD mapping software is broken up into nine different regions, which appear on nine different discs. The DVD mapping software contains the entire continental U.S. and Canada on one disc. How do I know which system is in my vehicle?
    Depending on the model/year of your vehicle, your navigation system may be CD-based or DVD based. Please check the disk or the pamphlet that accompanies the disk to determine the type of system you have. Does ZENRIN make the hardware system as well as the mapping software?
    ZENRIN is a company that specializes in navigation system software; the hardware system in your vehicle is produced by Nissan-Infiniti motor company. Any hardware-related questions or concerns should be directed to either your Nissan-Infiniti dealer or to Nissan-Infiniti consumer affairs. Does the hardware system need to be upgraded?

    Because of space limitations on CDs, the mapping data is divided up between nine disks. The DVD version, which is capable of holding more data, contains mapping data for the entire continental U.S. and Canada. How often is the mapping software updated? How can I find out about updates?

    Where does ZENRIN obtain the data it uses in the navigation software?
    In addition to licensing data from third parties, ZENRIN performs its own field research every year to obtain new mapping data and update old data for use in its navigation software. How can I contact ZENRIN regarding errors in the mapping data or to request more detailed coverage in a future software update?
    Please report any errors in the mapping data to ZENRIN using our data error report . These reports will be used in the production and planning of future mapping software updates. What is detailed coverage?
    The term "detailed coverage" refers to areas that have door-to-door coverage. Detailed coverage is usually available for most urban areas; the coverage that exists in more rural areas tends to be less detailed. What can I do if the area I live in is not covered in detail?
    In the event that the area you live in is not covered in detail, please check to see if an updated disc is available. If a new version is available, please contact our Customer Support Center or check our coverage lists to determine whether or not your area has been covered.     Your navigation system is designed solely for navigation purposes, and will not support either CDs or DVDs. Inserting any disk other than the mapping software disc into the navigation system is inadvisable as this may cause damage to your system. What should I use to clean the navigation system screen?
    The navigation system screen should be given the same treatment as a computer monitor---do not use alcohol-based cleaners, solvents, etc. to clean the monitor. Avoid getting the screen wet, as this may cause damage to your navigation system. Use monitor wipes or a soft cloth to remove dust that may accumulate on your screen. What is your return/exchange policy?
    Products can be returned within 30 days of receiving item if unopened. Products that have been opened cannot be returned unless defective. Defective items or items damaged by courier during transit for delivery can be exchanged for same item. Customer must call at 1-888-661-9995 (Nissan) or 1-800-777-0325 (Infiniti) to obtain an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization) before sending item back. Sorry, returned items without an RMA are not accepted. Is it possible for me to use your software in other navigation systems?
    ZENRIN'S software is designed specifically for navigation systems installed in Nissan-Infiniti vehicles, and will not function in other systems. Does the navigation system have monitoring capabilities? Can I locate my vehicle using the navigation system?
    No. The GPS receiver installed in the navigation system only shows where the vehicle is on the map---this data cannot be transmitted elsewhere. Are there any monthly subscription fees charged for using the navigation system?
    Besides software upgrades that you may wish to purchase, there are no additional charges to use or own your navigation system once you have purchased it. Can I use the navigation system software in my computer?
