Zenrin employs field research teams to annually survey the U.S. and Canadian interstate systems. Working from the previous year's data, these researchers drive every interstate (approx. 500) and survey each exit (approx. 36,000+) for a 1/4 mile in either direction. At each exit, businesses and points of interest (POI) are compared to the previous year's data, and missing addresses, phone numbers, GPS coordinates, and other additional information are gathered and updated.

GPS coordinates and attribute information are also recorded at all new businesses and points of interest, making Zenrin's data the most accurate database available. Zenrin's quality assurance teams post process every GPS reading to ensure the accuracy of these GPS coordinates.

In addition to being far more accurate than available business listings (i.e. telephone directories), visual surveys and data verification allow for the inclusion of a wide range of additional services (i.e. large vehicle parking, diesel gas, ATM, LP gas, car wash, etc.)

Zenrin's research and information gathering results is not only the most accurate but the most comprehensive database of businesses and services along the US Interstate and Trans-Continental highway system.
